Kids love "free choice" so we are implementing a GO ZONE Sports Day Camp on Veterans Day for 2017! This concept isn’t new, it’s a HUGE success within our Multi-Sport Summer Camp program and we feel it will help redefine sports activities for our millennial youth.
The premise of the GO ZONE idea is so “the every kid” has a chance to have fun and be active. Sports teams aren’t ideal for everyone, and even if they are, often times aren’t active or frequent enough to satisfy the highly energetic child. The GO ZONE concept is for every level of athleticism.
Here is the program….You drop your kiddos off at the GO ZONE Sports Day Camp and they make choices to GO participate in a multitude of structured stations that excite them. Station activities are comprised of our famous non-traditional sports camp games like Star Wars Zabers, Money Ball Adventure Quest or Ultimate Capture The Flag to a mix of traditional favorites like basketball, soccer, kickball and many others. Periods change frequently so campers get to make loads of new choices of what to play throughout the GO ZONE. If you've been to our summer camp, your kids love the GO ZONE periods!
Don't let the kid sit around all Veterans Day! Plan on getting them exercise they need with our heart pounding design of inclusive and engaging games!
Why build the GO ZONE concept.....
Let's face it, there are a lot of things wrong with todays sports activities. Far too many activities we put our kids into are sport specific. There is nothing wrong with playing traditional sports and improving your skills, but our society is seeing burnout from kids and over use injuries like never before in history. What happened to kids simply having fun, with no directive to "get better at a particular sport"? What happened to the backyard games that allowed kids to squeal with laughter while being completely unaware they are developing cross-sport movement skills? There are a myriad of reasons why our culture today has changed, but Bald Eagle looks to counter that negative trend with our GO ZONE concept.
The opportunity to "choose" is also another key concept educators and youth development experts say holds great value and power in the development and engagement of our children.
