Tryouts for our Fall 2024 AAU teams  

The Bald Eagle Basketball Club would like to invite your son to try out for our Fall 2024 AAU teams.  

We will be holding tryouts for Boys 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th grade levels. 

Every player chosen will be on a AAU team. There is no guarantee of placement on any team, but don't worry we have other developmental programs to recommend.  

TRYOUT DATES: Sundays Aug 18th & 25th 

9am-10:15am,  3rd & 4th Grades

10:15am-11:30am, 5th & 6th Grades

11:30am-12:45pm, 7th & 8th Grades

TRYOUT LOCATION: Los Altos High School Main Gym, 201 Almond Ave, Los Altos CA 94022

FOR TRYOUTS: Players should come in basketball shorts & shoes with filled water bottle. They may arrive 10min early to get shoes on and get stretched. We will start on time. Bring your own ball to warm up with.

AAU PRACTICE SCHEDULE SPRING 2024

> The Fall AAU program runs from Sept 3rd - Oct 27th 

> Each Regional AAU team will have 2-3 practices a week and a total of four Saturday Only tournaments in the 8 week season. Specific Prac Times by age group are still being determined.  BE ELITE teams may travel for some tournaments.

> Weekend practices are on Sunday, but when we have tournament games on Saturday, there is no practice on the following Sunday. We believe in family time over the weekend. 

PRACTICE TIMES & LOCATIONS

> Specific practice times have not been finalized yet for each age group.  They will be determined before you make a final commitment to the program.

> Midweek practices are held indoors Monday-Thursday between the hours of 6-9pm.  Weekend practices on Sundays are in the afternoon.

> All tournaments are local (within 40min) for the Ballers Regional teams. Our B.E. ELITE teams will travel out of the area. Tournament dates will be finalized when we form teams.

> Practices are held at Los Altos High School, Miramonte Christian School, Egan School, Blach School, the Palo Alto JCC & Bellarmine College Prep (SJ teams). We are always looking to add gyms but we keep them close by to minimize commuting.

4 PLACEMENT OPTIONS - We have a program for everyone

1. B.E. ELITE AAUTeam: Includes all services of being on a B.E. Ballers AAU team (below). Additionally, for ELITE players we will offer extended season, Travel Tournaments, Special Events both basketball & non-basketball, Special Access to a private Sports Complex and much more. Additional fees will apply but are not collected upfront.

2. B.E. Ballers AAU Team: These are our most popular Regional teams (local only). Fees include Pro Coach led Practices, Scrimmages, Skills Clinics, Challenge Games vs other club teams, Competition Days, Coach Pay, Coach Travel costs, AAU Tournament fees, In-house 3v3 Tournaments, team events & other inclusions.

3. B.E. AAU Practice Only: Players who have too many conflicts with weekend tournaments, or who are not quite ready skill wise to compete in the AAU circuit can opt for Prac Only positions.  Minimum skill standards are still required and we have capacity issues so space is limited.  Fees are reduced based on how many practices/wk you can attend. 

4. B.E. PRO Coach Growth League: We have a program for everyone. If a player is not skilled enough and ready for AAU, we will place them in one of the best beginner/intermediate development programs in the country so they can hone their skills and be ready for the next AAU season.

2024 AAU FEES 

> TRYOUT FEE - $25

> FALL AAU SEASON FEE - $1250.  New BE players will add $130 for the NIKE Gear Player Pack including a BE Uniform Jersey & Shorts, NIKE LS Drifit Shooting Shirt, NIKE Hoodie & NIKE Backpack. Every player who joins will also need an AAU card for the season ($20ish).

> BE ELITE TEAM FEE- $TBD.  There will be added fees if you are placed on the ELITE team, essentially a pay-as-you-go for the extra events that we do or gear that needs purchasing as an Bald Eagle ELITE player. 

> FALL AAU PRACTICE ONLY FEE - 8 WEEKS, $400 for 1 day/week, $800 for 2 days/week.  There is a skill level standard for this option and we have capacity limitations. It is not open to everyone you must be selected.  >>You pick the day(s) that work the best (this is assuming you are not competing in tourneys). NOTE: You must purchase a jersey ($45) because we require all players to wear their jersey at practice. You have the option of buying the entire Player Pack at our cost of $130 if you choose.

BASKETBALL CLUB PHILOSOPHY

Bald Eagle Basketball Club serves a large basketball community with programs for beginners to advanced, and we are excited to have you be a part of it. 

We live in a world with busy kids with sports seasons overlapping, but Bald Eagle wants to serve everyone we can.  As numbers dictate, we will offer our Ballers Regional AAU team to serve players who want to improve but may have multi-sport/other conflicts.  

Our belief strategy dictates a larger roster of players to allow flexibility, and tournament play will be on a "first to commit" basis.  This allows families with lots of conflicts to still participate. We will also offer Practice Only spots on this team for players who are unavailable to play at all on any weekend due to other sport conflicts.

All program placements and designations are intended to maximize the growth opportunity in basketball no matter the degree of commitment.

Coach Bob is the Founder & CEO of Bald Eagle Sports Camps. He has taught Special Ed and PE since 1995, currently at Los Altos HS. Coach Bob has over 25 years coaching experience from youth to collegiate, is a Certified Positive Coaching Alliance Trainer and holds two Credentials along with a Masters in Special Education.  Coach Bob is a Co-Founder of TRUSALUS, a tech platform specializing in peak performance and injury recovery in youth athletes.  Lastly, he has served for nearly 2 decades as a Board Member of the largest youth recreation league in the region, Foothill Youth Basketball. 

As the previous Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Los Altos High School, Coach Bob led the Eagles to 2 SCVAL titles ('13,'14) and the schools first ever Central Coast Section Championship (2015). Bald Eagle Camps has been profiled in PCA's books and Coach Bob was named by PCA as a Development Zone Leadership Fellow.  Coach Bob believes children should have a place to feel encouraged, included, cared for, safe from bullying, free from negativity and expected to have as much fun as possible. At the same time, children need direction on how to be their best person in every given moment.

Club co-owner and creator is a championship pedigree coach of over 30 years and a Positive Coaching Alliance winner of the coveted Development Zone Leadership Fellow Award.  This PCA award is for industry leaders who create programs for youth where they can grow in a safe, positive, challenging yet encouraging environment.  Most AAU programs do not fit that description and is exactly what makes Bald Eagle Basketball Club and AAU Elite Teams unique.
