Bald Eagle Basketball Club serves a large basketball community with programs for beginners to advanced, and we are excited to have you be a part of it. 

The Bald Eagle AAU tryouts will be on Sun 1/14 & Mon 1/15 evenings. Details are below. Players need to be evaluated to be placed.  Contact basketballclub@baldeaglecamps.com if you cannot attend the tryout this weekend but would like to play. 

Based on the evaluation results and commitment of players, we will be looking to form an ELITE team in each age group with players who have an ELITE skill set and can commit now to every tournament weekend. The ELITE season will extend into summer and include travel tournaments.

We live in a world with busy kids with sports seasons overlapping, but Bald Eagle wants to serve everyone we can.  As numbers dictate, we will also offer our standard AAU team to serve players who want to improve but may have multi-sport/other conflicts.  This difference dictates a larger roster of players to allow flexiblity, and tournament play will be on a "first to commit" basis.  This allows flexibilty to families with lots of conflicts. We will also offer Practice Only spots on this team for players who are unavailable to play at all on any weekend due to other sport conflicts.

All program placements and designations are intended to maximize the growth opportunity in basketball no matter the degree of commitment. 

TRYOUTS

Tryouts for our Spring 2024 AAU teams are THIS WEEKEND! 

The Bald Eagle Basketball Club would like to invite your son to try out for our Spring/Summer 2024 AAU teams.  We will be holding tryouts for Boy 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th/8th-grade levels. Every player chosen will be on a AAU team, and the top players will be invited to also be on our ELITE AAU team. There is no guarantee of placement on any team.  Below are the 2 dates to tryout and information on dates, pricing, etc.

TRYOUT 1 DATE: Sunday January 14th 

5:00pm-6:00pm, 3rd-5th Grades 

6:15pm-7:15pm, 6th-8th Grades

LOCATION: Main Gym, Los Altos High School Main Gym, 201 Almond Ave, Los Altos CA 94022

TRYOUT 2 DATE: Monday January 15th

FOR TRYOUTS: Players should come in basketball shorts & shoes with filled water bottle, may arrive 10min early to get shoes on and get stretched. We will start on time. Bring your own ball to warm up with.

*Spring program runs from the week of 3/18/24 - 5/19/24 (excluding 4/6-4/13 for Spring Break)

*ALL TEAMS - Tournament Saturdays:  3/30, 4/20, 5/11, 5/18-19

*If Tournament games are on Saturday, no practice on the following Sunday.

3 PLACEMENT OPTIONS

1. B.E. ELITE AAUTeam: Includes all services of being on a B.E. AAU team (below). Additionally, for ELITE players we will offer extended season, Travel Tournaments, Special Events both basketball & non-basketball, Special Access to the Yonekura Family Sports Complex and much more. Additional fees will apply but are not collected upfront.

2. B.E. AAU Team: Fees include Pro Coach led Practices, Scrimmages, Skills Clinics, Challenge Games vs other club teams, Competition Days, Coach Pay, Coach Travel costs, AAU Tournaments, In-house 3v3 Tournaments

3. B.E. AAU Practice Only: Players who have too many conflicts with weekend tournaments, or who are not quite ready skill wise to compete in the AAU circuit can opt for Prac Only positions.  Minimum skill standards are still required and we have capacity issues so space is limited.  Fees are reduced based on how many practices/wk you can attend.

2024 AAU FEES 

*TRYOUT FEE - $20

*SPRING AAU SEASON FEE - $1300.  The costs cover the uniforms and gear, tournament entry fees, gym rental, coaches travel and other administrative expenses.  Included in the fee, every player who joins will receive a new NIKE Player Pack of New BE Uniform Jersey & Shorts, NIKE LS Drifit Shooting Shirt, NIKE Hoodie & NIKE Backpack). Every player who joins will also need an AAU card for the season ($20ish).

*SPRING ELITE TEAM FEE- There will be added fees if you are placed on the ELITE team, essentially a pay-as-you-go for the extra events that we do or gear that needs purchasing as an Bald Eagle Elite player. 

*SPRING AAU PRACTICE ONLY FEE (no player pack included except prac jersey) - 8 WEEKS, $400 for 1 day/week, $750 for 2 days/week.  You pick the day(s) that work the best (this is assuming you are not competing in tourneys). NOTE: Player Pack items beyond jersey can be ordered if desired at online store.

Coach Bob is the Founder & CEO of Bald Eagle Sports Camps. He has taught Special Ed and PE since 1995, currently at Los Altos HS. Coach Bob has over 25 years coaching experience from youth to collegiate, is a Certified Positive Coaching Alliance Trainer and holds two Credentials along with a Masters in Special Education.  Coach Bob is a Co-Founder of TRUSALUS, a tech platform specializing in peak performance and injury recovery in youth athletes.  Lastly, he has served for nearly 2 decades as a Board Member of the largest youth recreation league in the region, Foothill Youth Basketball. 

As the previous Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Los Altos High School, Coach Bob led the Eagles to 2 SCVAL titles ('13,'14) and the schools first ever Central Coast Section Championship (2015). Bald Eagle Camps has been profiled in PCA's books and Coach Bob was named by PCA as a Development Zone Leadership Fellow.  Coach Bob believes children should have a place to feel encouraged, included, cared for, safe from bullying, free from negativity and expected to have as much fun as possible. At the same time, children need direction on how to be their best person in every given moment.

Club co-owner and creator is a championship pedigree coach of over 30 years and a Positive Coaching Alliance winner of the coveted Development Zone Leadership Fellow Award.  This PCA award is for industry leaders who create programs for youth where they can grow in a safe, positive, challenging yet encouraging environment.  Most AAU programs do not fit that description and is exactly what makes Bald Eagle Basketball Club and AAU Elite Teams unique.
